How and why the association was founded?<\/b><\/p>\n

Down Mures Association was founded after several meetings between parents whose children has Down syndrome.
\nThrough these meetings we got help to get over the first shock, we realized that no one is guilty, we learned to have the courage to speak about and ask for help. We learned to overcome our fears, to enjoy and love our children as they are . And not least we learned to support each other.
\nWe had the chance to get early intervention and we want that every person with Down syndrome to get all the support they need.
\nWe realized that we have similar problems and we can solve them easier together.

The association was founded in June 2006.<\/div>\n

What is Down syndrome?<\/div>
\"trisomia21\"<\/div>
\nDown syndrome is a genetic disorder, caused by the presence of all or part of a third copy of chromosome 21. A person with Down syndrome has some specific signs and symptomes that make him DIFFERENT from other people. The community need to understand that being different does not mean to be dangerous just a little special.
\nDown syndrome is not a disease, is not contagious, is not transferable, but most importantly is not a mental illness. A person with Down syndrome is not violent and not dangerous to others.
\nHe is just a special person, unique in his own way, just like any other person, with feelings, experiences and his own personality and thought.<\/div><\/div>
How can we help them? <\/div>

\nInterventie psihopedagogica (stimularea atentiei, memoriei, g\u00eendirii, a limbajului, a autoservirii s.a.)
\nKinetoterapie(prevenirea atitudinilor si pozitiilor incorecte ale corpului, cresterea capacitatii functionale a aparatelor\u00a0 cardiovascular, respirator si locomotor, dezvoltarea coordonarii si echilibrului)
\nLogopedie(stimularea comunicarii si corectarea tulburarilor de vorbire)<\/div><\/div>

\nInformare si instruire corecta asupra acceptarii situatiei, evitarea institutionalizarii

\nOrganizarea programelor corespunzator nevoilor fiecarui copil sau adult cu sindrom Down
\nSensibilizarea opiniei publice, promovarea unei imagini pozitive a persoanelor cu sindrom Down
\nColaborarea cu gradinitele si scolile privind integrarea copiilor cu sindrom Down \u00een dialog cu cadrele didactice
\nVizite si schimburi de experienta cu alte centre din tara si din strainatate
